What I also do is plant the suckers the come out the side of the plant. I get more pineapples this way, and it is a shorter wait between fruits. I grow pineapples all the time. At the m...Hi Morag,<br />I grow pineapples all the time. At the moment I have about 10 plants and 3 baby pineapples growing. I twist the top off the fresh pineapple, let the exposed part heal over and then screw the spiky top into the soil, both in the ground and in pots.
